San Antonio, TX 12 Oct, 2009: Hope4Heroes.org launches next generation Social Entrepreneurship program to help 100 million Americans in need or out of work utilizing “Veteran Friendly Franchises” . Vic Luebker, the Chairman of Hope4Heroes says this: “It’s harder than ever for non-profits to raise money and for those in need to find help, our program does both”. This program partners with a national partners to offer a discounted or free business to veterans.
It combines basic network and business skills with social entrepreneurship. Although the FREE program is designed for disabled veterans we have secured a discount from some partners so everyone can benefit.
The program will also serve to raise money for the Hope4Heroes.org emergency relief fund and scholarships for kids. Mr. Luebker says this: “In the past, grants and donations were the primary source of income for charities, we feel it’s a must in this down economy to seek new ways to raise money vital to our programs and empower people at the same time”. This program takes on joblessness, homelessness and a weak economy all at once.
More about Social entrepreneurship: A social entrepreneur is someone who recognizes a social problem and uses entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a venture to make social change. Whereas a business entrepreneur typically measures performance in profit and return, a social entrepreneur assesses success in terms of the impact s/he has on society as well as in profit and return. While social entrepreneurs often work through nonprofits and citizen groups, many are now working in the private and governmental sectors and making a real impact on society.

There is only one satisfaction greater than working for yourself, that’s giving back to others!
We are very pleased with the support coming from the veterans affaires committee this 110th Congress. They have pressed the VA hard on a number of issues and we may soon be at a turning point with VA related benefits. Make no mistake there is a log way to go and we want all of you to keep steady pressure on the VA and report issues to us so we can up channel them.
Of note we are watching the new post 9/11 GI bill to see if the VA has the capability to implement benefits as fast as the claims. It is critical that they learn from past mistakes in the aera of VA Retro pay and the excessive delays getting veterans paid. We expect the VA to be more pro-active not re-active in the future and this is a big test of thier ability to do that.
Please keep us posted with both success stories and delays you face in the area of the new post 9/11 GI bill.
