RV of Hope

http://rgvisionmagazine.com/2009/09/rv-of-hope/

Currently, more than 300,000 military veterans are disabled, homeless or unable to find jobs that will enable them to adequately support their families. The brave men and women who serve this nation proudly in an effort to provide hope for a better tomorrow, often come home devoid of their own hope. For centuries, members of our military have worked, fought and made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom and civil liberties. Members of the United States Military Services work hard so that we can enjoy our lives, live in a safe environment, and remain optimistic about the future. Many veterans return home and are forced to deal with life-altering physical and mental challenges, difficult financial circumstances, and complicated family situations.

Hope4Heroes is an organization that has been created to make a positive difference in the lives of these soldiers, veterans and their families.

The newest project that Hope4Heroes is initiating is called the Mobile Veterans Support Center (MVSC). This program will provide greater reach and better access for veterans in need of services from crisis counseling to job transition and training. This MVSC will also offer a unique and impactful solution to providing services to a large number of veterans dispersed over a vast geographic area.

The MVSC will be housed in customized truck and trailer that will include two work stations, a waiting area, full complement of literature and publications, computers with Wi-Fi access to do on-the-spot research, and most importantly a private area for crisis counseling. The MVSC will serve as a base of operations for Mobile Veterans Support Teams – counselors, case managers, health educators from Hope4Heroes and sponsor programs targeted to veterans. Individual and group services will be provided as well as workshops and presentations. Zip code volunteers will assist with coordination and outreach and making sure their families make good use of the MVSC.

This RV and this mission will represent hope for so many of our military officers, active and retired.

“We all owe a debt of gratitude to those who serve,” said founder and chairman of Hope4Heroes Vic Luebker. “It is rewarding to be able to help the heroes that have sacrificed and suffered to protect myself and my children. Hope4Heroes is our way of thanking and honoring the memories of the brave men and women who fought for our freedom, protected us when we could not protect ourselves, and gave us hope for a better future when we thought all hope was lost.”

The plans have been made for this unique nationwide offering. So many lives are awaiting the opportunity for positive transformation. As Hope4Heroes marches on, it seeks the donation of an RV to put this idea to action.

“We are hopeful to begin this motivational and transformational journey, and our organization’s volunteers are 100 percent dedicated to the cause of bringing these resources to our military veterans who are in need,” Luebker remarked, “We are ready to hit the road on our mission—and hope to find a gracious donor for this project.”

Based in San Antonio, Hope4Heroes is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing assistance to our veterans. Hope4Heroes began delivering services during the summer of 2007 as a volunteer-led “vets helping vets” group by providing support to Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) veterans. H4H strives to reach every veteran and family member in need by establishing a team of veteran and volunteer “coaches” to provide support, training, resources, and assistance to disabled veterans and their families.
